SUMMARY:San Fu Moxa Day 1 2026
DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to offer San Fu Moxibustion this year! \nSan Fu Moxibustion (or Moxa for short) uses hot\, warming herbs applied to specific acupuncture points on the back and/or torso during the hottest days of the year to prevent cold\, damp diseases in the winter. \nClick here to schedule your San Fu Moxibustion treatment now. \nWhen Is San Fu Used?\nThe dates change each year\, because they are based on Daoist cosmology\, not the Gregorian calendar. In 2026\, the dates are \nSan Fu 1: July 15 \nSan Fu 2: July 25 \nSan Fu 3: August 4 \nSan Fu 4: August 14 \nWe’ll use different points each time. San Fu is most effective when you come in for a treatment on all 4 dates. \nWhy Use San Fu Moxa?\nThis treatment is great for people who suffer from frequent colds\, flu\, asthma\, or bronchitis. It’s also helpful for people who are easily cold or get cold hands and feet. \nDo you have symptoms that tend to be worse in colder weather? Ask your acupuncturist if San Fu Moxa could be helpful. \nAs China Herb Co. explains\, the principle of prevention says “treat winter diseases in summer. Chapter 9 of the Ling Shu [a foundational Chinese medical text] describes how qi resides in the hair in spring\, the skin in summer\, the flesh in autumn\, and the tendons and bones in winter. That passage was originally about needling depth\, but the same logic applies to San Fu treatment. The lungs govern the skin and belong to the metal element — so treating points during the year’s hottest days lets the herbs’ warmth penetrate the body\, warm the yang\, transform phlegm\, and strengthen the lungs.” \nWhat’s In the San Fu Moxa?\nWe’re using a formula from China Herb Co. which is equal parts Xi Xin (Radix et Rhizoma Asari)\, Bai Jie Zi (Semen Sinapis)\, Yan Hu Suo (Rhizoma Corydalis)\, Lai Fu Zi (Semen Raphani)\, Xuan Fu Hua (Flos Inulae)\, and Wu Zhu Yu (Fructus Evodiae). Please do not get San Fu Moxa if you’re allergic to any of these ingredients! \nAcupuncturist Heidi Lovie Explains San Fu Moxibustion:\n \nBy Appointment Only – Click Here to Book Your San Fu Moxibustion Visit at Boston Acupuncture Project.
