Boston Acupuncture Project welcomes holistic therapist Kim Ecevido of Kensho Life to our treatment room. “Journey to Inner Knowing” empowers you to unlock intuition, develop meaningful self-care practices, and cultivate lasting harmony across mind, body, and spirit.

Embark on a profound journey to connect with your higher self, enhance your intuition, and create a nurturing space for self-care. Beginning with optional ear acupuncture and reiki, a Japanese healing technique, this program establishes an energetic balance to promote well-being, followed by a hypnosis session to gently guide you inward and access your inner wisdom.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive healing technique originating from Japan that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and enhances overall well-being. Practitioners channel energy through their hands, either lightly touching or hovering above the body, to balance the recipient’s energy and support the body’s natural healing processes. This calming practice helps to relieve tension, improve mental clarity, and encourage emotional and spiritual balance. Reiki is used throughout hospitals around the world. Locally Brigham and Women’s, Children’s Hospital, and Mass General are just a few that use Reiki for patients on a regular basis.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural, focused state of deep relaxation and heightened awareness that allows individuals to access their subconscious mind more easily. We access various states of hypnosis on a regular basis without even knowing. Hypnosis uses suggestions and imagery to help individuals reframe thoughts, release negative patterns, and make positive changes. Often used
for stress reduction, habit change, and self-improvement, hypnosis works by bypassing the conscious mind to access and transform deeper beliefs and behaviors.

What happens in this program?

Each participant will receive a few minutes of individual Reiki. Participants may also receive ear acupuncture from licensed acupuncturist Ren Pilinger. Finally, Kim Ecevido leads a group hypnosis session for 30 minutes.

Who is Kim?

Kim Ecevido, founder of Kensho Life, has over 11 years of experience serving Boston and the surrounding areas, specializing in women’s wellness through both in-person and online hypnosis and holistic therapies.

As a Consulting Hypnotist, Reiki Master, Holistic Therapist, and National Guild of Hypnotists member, Kim combines hypnosis, energy healing, and other holistic practices to help clients achieve balance through their mind, body, and spirit.

Her customized sessions address a client’s goals, including emotional healing, improved relationships, grief recovery, and more. By uncovering and transforming limiting beliefs and patterns, Kim guides clients in resolving challenges at their root, empowering lasting change and helping them reach their highest potential.

Acu-pressure and Acupuncture for Well-Being

Acupuncture has been used by humans for thousands of years, with traditions throughout East Asia presenting different schools of thought on how the body works. Learn about how ancient Daoist observations of nature are still relevant to us today, including acu-pressure points you can use on yourself at home.

Oren “Ren” Pilinger is a graduate of The New England School of Acupuncture at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, state licensed, and board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). After practicing at community acupuncture clinics all over Massachusetts, he co-founded Boston Acupuncture Project, which opened in Hyde Park in 2018.

Sleep Better This Spring: herbs for better sleep

chamomile flowers growing in field

Class Description

Sleep is medicine. It restores us mentally and gives our bodies time to physically repair our tissues. An estimated 18 million adults in the US use either prescription or over the counter medications to help them get better sleep. For those who would like to explore other options, a more holistic approach is possible.

If you’re someone who doesn’t get the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep per night, herbs could be your ally. In this one-hour community workshop, we’ll talk about common issues surrounding sleep and DIY herbal preparations to address imbalances.

Plants can relax tense muscle, soothe intrusive thoughts at bedtime, and encourage our nervous system to “rest and digest.” We’ll learn strategies for balancing hormones and circadian cycles to encourage healthy sleep/wake cycles. Participants will be able to taste and try different preparations and will be encouraged to try making their own at home!

Presenter

Emma O’Brien is a clinically trained Western herbalist, birth worker and Hyde Park resident. She has been working professionally and personally with herbs as medicine for a decade, and has supported over 200 families in their pregnancy, labor and birth process.

Cost

$15-$25 sliding scale for each person taking the class. You can pay in advance online, or pay with cash or card when you arrive for the class at Boston Acupuncture Project.
