Volunteers needed for Juneteenth Joy 2024!

When: Saturday, June 15, 2024

Where: Francis D. Martini Memorial Shell Park and Moynihan Recreation Area, 1015 Truman Parkway, Hyde Park, MA 02136

What: help with any of the following for an hour or two!

  • Set up from 9:00-11:00 AM
  • Sign people up for free treatments and talk about acupuncture anytime from 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Clean up and break down 2:30-3:30 PM.

Hyde Park Juneteenth Joy: Focus on Freedom. Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Martini Memorial Shell Park and Moynihan Recreation Area on Truman Parkway. Our Masters of Ceremonies: City Councilors Ruthzee Louijeune and Enrique Pepen. Invited Guests: Maura Healey, Governor of Massachusetts. Ayanna Pressley, Congresswoman MA-07. Michelle Wu, Mayor of Boston. Kim Driscoll, Lieutenant Governor. Activities: wellness and dance classes, kids play area, canoeing on the Neponset River. New this year: a multi-stage festival experience! Food: sample from local businesses and purchase from food trucks. New this year: collard greens and red velvet cake contest! Exhibits and vendors: local non-profits, artisans, and vendors. Shopping and giveaways! New this year: Living Histories MLK Community Builders Meet and Greet. A special invite for all Fairmount Housing Residents and New Migrants: join us on the Tennis Courts for a Meet-Greet-Dance party!
